At present, the light sources of solar street lights are basically led light sources. Such street lights are also called solar led street lights. However, in the process of use, we often encounter LEDs that do not light up. This is the dead light phenomenon of solar led street lights.


There are generally two reasons for dead lights. One is that the excessive leakage current of solar led street lights causes the PN junction to fail and cause local dead lights, and the entire lamp work is not affected. Dead lights are generated when no current passes, causing the entire lamp to fail to work properly. So how to avoid this phenomenon?


First, prevent static electricity


Static electricity is a kind of extremely harmful devil to the solar led street light. Any problem in any link will cause damage to the LED, make the LED performance worse or even fail.


We know that the static electricity of the human body (ESD) can reach about three thousand volts, which is enough to break down the LED chip. In the LED packaging production line, a scientific and standardized grounding design must be designed. Generally, the grounding resistance is 4 ohms. The ground resistance must even reach ≤2 ohms.


Second, try to use automatic welding equipment


If manual welding is used, the welding temperature must be strictly controlled. This is because manual welding is used. If an ordinary soldering iron is used, the soldering iron temperature is above 300-400 ° C, and the excessively high soldering temperature will also cause dead lights.


The expansion coefficient of solar LED street lamp leads is several times higher than the expansion coefficient at about 150 ° C. The internal gold wire solder joints will pull the solder joints apart due to excessive thermal expansion and contraction, causing a dead lamp phenomenon.
